She has choreographed routines for cheerleading and hip hop squads for years. She premiered her own work in high school and had the title of Director for the Dance Concerts there. Ms. Adams then knew she wanted to continue with her interest in dance. In the summer before she was a freshman at ASU, she started to train in ballet and modern. She wanted to continue her journey with choreography and experience different types of styles in dance. Most importantly, Ms. Adams wanted learn more about herself as an artist. She received the Maroon and Gold Scholarship for academics for four years. In addition, the Laveen Lions Athletic Scholarship and Barabara McDermott Scholarship helped her become successful at ASU. She also had the opportunity to be apart of the Hip Hop Coalition and the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society that opened her eyes up to new challenges and fun. Candice Allred was born in Richfield, Utah but grew up mostly in Playas, NM. It seems she has been dancing and choreographing her whole life. She is very interested in creating her own movement since opportunity was scarce for technique training while growing up. Pep Rallies, Basketball games, and pageants or competitions were her chance to do so. Her technical dance training in ballet started in her senior year of high school. She did not start modern dance until she decided to study here at ASU. She enjoys hip-hop dance and loves to incorporate it’s style into her pieces. She has yet to be part of a company as a dancer or choreographer, and she hopes for the best in that endeavor. Cherie Burnett At the age of seven, Cherie remarked, “When you dance, it’s like you can feel the music.” Since then her passion and committal to dance have brought her from Manchester, England to the Herberger College of Fine Arts at ASU. Cherie was a member of DART for two years and performed for choreographers such as Pablo Cornejo, Randy James, Ying Yang, Luc Vanier and Kim Karpanty. Cherie has worked with Faculty members Mary Fitzgerald and Shouze Ma and recently performed Ma’s “Being” at the American College Dance Festival.
