John Mayol Age: 27 Region: Upper Nile I am from Bor. My mom and dad took care of me when I was young. I left home in 1987 when I was six years old. When the war broke out, I went to Panyido in Ethiopia. I stayed in Panyido until 1991. When war broke out in Ethiopia, I went back to Bor. I left Bor because I didn’t want to be killed. Everything about traveling was hard. I used my feet to travel. Everything was bad. I saw a lot of wild animals. If you’re not careful, they will attack you. In 1991, I went to Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. I stayed there from 1992-2000. In 1998, I applied to come to the United States. I waited from 1998-2000. I flew to Phoenix. I was happy to come the United States. I’m proud to be here, I got an apartment and I learned to drive a truck. The U.S is a beautiful country and stands together. I go to Mesa Community College and study civil engineering; I want to get my degree. School is important. After I get my degree, I want to be Senator of United States. I never see my family and friends and I feel sorry. I love my family and friends. My mom and dad are alive and I have four brothers and six sisters. I love my mom and dad so much and I’m so proud of them. I love my lovely mom and my lovely dad. I love them. I still think of them because they took care of me. I want to see them as soon as I can. God knows everything. God bless any living thing all over the world and the U.S
