Yet, the means by which to achieve this goal of disruption are affected by other interlocking, racist systems such as realestate. In celebration of Black History Month, Kim provides a list of recommendations for White allies to support a Black friend/colleague while moving/selling their homes. Read more Program Update Demonstrating STEM Education Can Be Better This last Saturday was the very first session of our nine-week spring program for Hawaii girls in the 8th-12th grade. We had over 80 girls register for the course and we are thrilled to have them be a part of the CompuGirl program. One of our Postdoctoral Researchers, Christine O'Donnell, gave her thoughts on writing the program curriculum and what it was like to be able to design a program she wish she could have had in high school. Learn more Meet: Miracle Freckleton Miracle Freckleton is a Graduate Research Assistant at CGEST and we love having Miracle's expertise on our team. Currently a graduate student in the Women and Gender Studies program at ASU where Blackness, queerness, locality, embodiment, and intimacy are central to her research interests and fit in perfectly with the mission and programs at our center. Her work at CGEST includes researching girls of color in STEM through numerous avenues. This work includes creating literature synthesis for multiple projects, aiding in various data analysis types, curating this information into writing, and researching any vital areas for the team.
