Our heroine is drawn into the realm of undead club girls and virtual DJs, where she discovers she cannot escape from myths, whether ancient or modern. The Comedie of Errors, a Shakespearean classic ripe with slapstick humor and fantastic coincidences follows two sets of twins separated at birth as they appear in the same city. Love's Fire features the short plays of five note-worthy playwrights, each paired with the Shakespearean sonnet that inspired it. In Pursuit of Art: Early Organ Music as Didactic Material introduces ASU's new pedal clavichord, an instrument used to teach baroque organists. Half of the program is on clavichord; the other, on organ. Order vs. Beauty: A Juxtaposition of German and Italian Styles appreciates the unique timbres of the Fritts and Traeri organs. A German Organ Tour explores the history of German organ music by Buxtehude, Bach, Mendelssohn and Merkel. The Golden Age in Europe runs Feb. 4. She enjoys tailoring programs to the styles of the instruments she plays and has performed on many historical organs, such as the Couperin organ at Saint-Gervais, Paris, the Gothic organ in Sion, Switzerland, and the Cahman organ in Leufstabruk, Sweden. Marshall has been a recitalist and workshop leader during recent National Conventions of the American Guild of Organists (Dallas, 1994; New York, 1996; Denver, 1998; Seattle, 2000; Los Angeles 2004). From 1996-2000, she was affiliated with the Organ Research Center in Goteborg, Sweden, where she taught and performed. Under the aegis of GOArt, she organized the conference "The Organ in Recorded Sound" and has edited the proceedings of this — the first-ever conference devoted to sound recordings of the organ. During the summer of 2001, she appeared in Seoul for the Korean Association of Organists and in Toronto for the Convention of the Royal College of Canadian Organists. Her recording of Chen Yi's organ concerto with the Singapore Symphony was released in 2003 on the BIS label, and her recording of latemedieval organ music, "Gothic Pipes," was released by Loft Recordings in 2004. Dieterich Buxtehude (1637-1707) Marshall spent spring 2005 on sabbatical in Pistoia, Italy, where she researched early Italian organ music and performed on many historical organs, including the famous Hildebrandt instrument in Naumburg, Germany, which Bach examined in 1746. Her engagements for 2007 include performances in Oxford, England, Shanghai and Oaxaca, Mexico. She currently holds the Patricia and Leonard Goldman Endowed Professorship of Organ at Arizona State University, and she has previously held teaching positions at the Royal Academy of Music, London and Stanford University. In 1985, she won first prize in the international St. Albans Competition, resulting in prestigious concerts (Royal Festival Hall, London and Chartres Cathedral) and a recording contract with the BBC. The following year, she received the `° A D.Phil. in Music from the University of Oxford. Her compact disc recordings feature music of the Italian and Spanish Renaissance, French Classical and Romantic periods, and works by J. S. Bach.
