t.terbergerCollege of Fine Arts ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY ERIC HOLLENBECK PERCUSSION GUEST ARTIST RECITAL SERIES KATZIN CONCERT HALL WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2006 • 7:30 P.M. Eric Hollenbeck is in his third year as Assistant Professor of Percussion at Colorado State University. He previously held the position of Instructor of Percussion and Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received his Bachelor's degree from Kent State University, Master's from the University of Illinois and Doctorate from Northwestern University. Mr. Hollenbeck is currently the principal timpanist with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and is a former member of the Columbus Symphony, Columbus, Ohio. He has also performed with the Sinfonia Da Camera, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. He was a former member of the Dutch Boy drum and bugle corps. His specialty resides in four mallet marimba work, in which he is in demand as a clinician. His teachers include Michael Burritt, Tom Freer, Jim Ross, Leigh Howard Stevens, Paul Wertico, and Paul Yancich. He is the current president of the Colorado Chapter of PAS and the past President of the Alabama Chapter of Percussive Arts Society. He is endorsed by Marimba One instruments, Innovative Percussion and Sabian Cymbals.
