About this evening's concert
Gyorgy Ligeti's Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet are transcriptions of
movements from Musica ricercata for piano. The two works will be
played alternately to examine the differences between the two versions.
Sara Porter will play four movements for solo piano first (I, II, IV and
VI), followed by six movements (Ill, V, VII, VIII, IX, X) played by the
piano and then in their transcriptions for wind quintet.
