Biographies A native of San Jose, California, Catherine O'Shaughnessy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Bowling Green State University. While in Ann Arbor, she formed a chamber orchestra, the Young Artists Ensemble, and was the music director of several shows for The Comic Opera Guild and MUSKET. Catherine studies orchestral conducting with Dr. Timothy Russell while pursuing a Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting at Arizona State University. She is a conductor of the ASU Sinfonietta Orchestra and an assistant conductor for the ASU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Brian St. John comes to Arizona after spending 1995-2008 in Boulder County, Colorado. During those thirteen seasons, Brian was Resident Conductor for the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Longmont Youth Symphony, and Music Director for the Niwot Timberline Symphony. In addition to conducting hundreds of concerts in that span, St. John has written and premiered seven original ballets, a piano concerto, a concertino for String Bass and Orchestra and a double concerto for Mandolin, Mandola and Strings. Brian studies orchestral conducting with Dr. Timothy Russell while pursuing a Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting at Arizona State University. He is a conductor of the ASU Sinfonietta Orchestra and an assistant conductor for the ASU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.
