Hungarian Dances, Set IV (1852-68) Andantino in F-sharp Minor Molto vivace in D Major Allegretto in B Minor Poco Allegretto in E Minor Vivace in E Minor – E Major Eckart Sellheim, Professor of piano accompanying, was born in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland), and received his musical training in Germany and Switzerland from the late Jakob Gimpel. He was appointed to the faculties of the two major conservatories in Cologne and continued his academic career as Associate Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the University of Michigan in 1983. Since 1989 he has been Director of Accompanying at Arizona State University. He has also served as Guest Lecturer of Fortepiano and Performance Practice at various music academies in Germany. He has given numerous master classes in this country and in Europe. Mr. Sellheim maintains a very active performance schedule, having made concert tours in the U.S.A., Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and throughout Europe. He appears regularly on radio programs in the USA and abroad and has made 18 recordings as piano and fortepiano soloist and collaborative pianist. Dian Baker has been an Artistic Ambassador for the United States for eleven years. She has performed with her late husband, cellist Roger Drinkall, in more than 900 concerts in 30 countries, many of which have been broadcast worldwide on radio and television. Eleven commercial recordings on the Pyramid, Klavier, Sanctus, Tantra, and Wilson Audiophile labels are to her credit, and her "Trios" recording was chosen by Fanfare magazine as one of the top ten recordings of 1998. Dian is Principal Pianist with the Phoenix Boys Choir, and frequently performs with her husband, pianist Eckart Sellheim. She is currently working towards a Doctorate in Piano Accompanying at ASU.
