Borivoj Martinic-Jercic Borivoi Martinic-Jercic has been the Concertmaster of tl-re Phoenix Symphony Orchestra since 1998. Ile had his first major solo peifonltance at the age of foufieen with the_Zagreb philharnionic in his native croatia. A student of Prof. Kristijan Petlovich, he graduated from the Blagoje Bersa Conservatory of Music in Zagreb in 1978. Tlte satne year he came to the United States on a scholarship to the Interlochen Arts Academy. Martinic-Jercic went on to earn a B.M. and M.M. frorn the University of Michigan, under the guidance of Paul Makanowitzky and Prof. Ruggiero Ricci. After he graduated he pursuecl a career as a concen violinist with numerous solo and charnber music perfonnances in the United States, Catlada, Japan and Europe. He has perfonned with such prestigious ensernbles as the Detroit Contemporary Charnber Ensemble and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Aside fronr ltis post with the Phoenix Symphorty, Martinic-Jercic is the Concertmaster of the Santa FcOpera Orchestra, and he teachcs violin at ASU School of Music. Monday, February 26, 200L PROGRAM.
