Thank you. Elizabeth Buck is Associate Professor of Flute at Arizona State University. Prior to joining the faculty at ASU, Dr. Buck performed with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra as Principal Flute, a position she held from 1994-2003. An active chamber musician in addition to orchestral performer, Dr. Buck is a member of the Manhattan Wind Quintet and performs regularly with the Arizona State University Faculty Woodwind Quintet. She has performed in a variety of venues nationally and internationally, from such diverse groups as the Downtown Chamber Players in Phoenix, to the Nova Philharmonia Portuguesa in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Buck spends her summer as Artist-Faculty at the Brevard Music Center as well as Visiting Assistant Professor of Flute at Indiana University's Summer Music Festival. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rice University as well as Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School. Dr. Buck is an active member of the National Flute Association and the Arizona Flute Society. Principal harpist of the Phoenix Symphony from 1998 to 2001, Andrea Thiele is a native of Germany who received her diploma and artist degree with honors at the Hochschule air Musik, Munich. She also holds a Master's of Music from Yale University. She has won numerous competitions and scholarships in Germany and the United States. She was principal harpist at the Staatskapelle Schwerin, Germany, from 1994-1998 and played with the orchestras of the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Muncher Philharmoniker and as soloist with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestcr, Warsaw Symphony, Yale Philharmonia, Phoenix Symphony, Orquestra Sinfonica Nacional of Mexico City, etc. She has recorded at various European Broadcast Corporations as well as two SoloCDs in 1998 and 2000. With one of her chamber music groups she was invited to perform at the World Harp Congress 1999 in Prague. Mrs. Thiele resides with her husband Christoph Thiele, Professor for Mathematics at UCLA and her three children, Felix, Annika and Dominik in Los Angeles. Performance Events Staff Manager Paul W.
