His most significant teachers were the American mezzo-soprano Lucretia West, the dramatic baritone Gunter Reich, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, stage director Renate Ackermann and pianist Norman Shetler. His opera debut was in 1991 as Mozart's Figaro at the State Opera Theater in Regensburg, Germany. Since then he has performed at many opera houses throughout Europe, such as Basel, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Munich and Passau. Andreas Reibenspies has been invited to numerous festivals and concerts in France, Austria, Switzerland, Russia (Tchaikovsky Conservatory), Hungary, Poland, Jordan, Israel (Kfar Blum Chamber Music Festival), Brazil, USA, Latvia (National Opera Riga), Mexico (CulturAlc Mexico-City, Cervantino-Festival Guanajuato). Worldwide, he has sung the major roles in the operas "Jakob Lenz" and "The conquest of Mexico" by Wolfgang Rihm. Andreas Reibenspies has dedicated himself especially to contemporary music and song. Besides these interests he is also very well known as an oratorio singer. Other active fields of musical interests are as a collaborative pianist and as choral and instrumental conductor. Presently he is the artistic director of the prizewinning young vocal ensemble MILAGRO in Karlsruhe, Germany. From 1989 to 2003 he was a member of the voice faculty at the University of Music in Karlsruhe. Andreas Reibenspies was appointed full Professor of Voice in October of 2002 at the University of Music in Trossingen, Germany. Eckart Sellheim received has musical training in Germany and Switzerland; Adolf Drescher and Jacob Gimpel were among his teachers. He was appointed to the faculties of the two major conservatories in Cologne, Germany and continued his academic career as Associate Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Since 1989 he has been a Professor and Director of Collaborative Piano (former piano accompanying) at ASU. He is also a frequent guest lecturer of fortepiano and performance practice at various music academies in Germany, most notably at the Musikhochschule in Trossingen, and taught numerous master classes and workshops in the U.S. and in several European countries. Mr. Sellheim maintains an active performance schedule, having made concert tours in the U.S., Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, and throughout Europe, including Russia. He has rediscovered and performed, in concert and on CD, a host of unknown piano concertos by classical and romantic composers including Field, Boccherini, and others and he has played the world premiere of Debussy's early piano trio. His longtime collaboration with his late brother, cellist FriedrichJurgen Sellheim, is manifested in an award-winning set of recordings on the CBS/Sony label. He appears regularly on radio programs in the U.S. and abroad and has made more than 20 recordings on piano and fortepiano as a soloist and collaborative pianist.
