All nghts reserved. 0312 I I '\\ • Houston-born conductor Cullan Lucas recently moved to Phoenix, AZ to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Orchestral and Operatic Conducting at Arizona State University. Prior to this position he served as Principal Conductor of the Columbia Community Orchestra, in Columbia, SC. Mr. Lucas has participated in both domestic and international conducting workshops, including a performance with the Nanchang University Philharmonic Orchestra in China. Mr. Lucas earned a Master of Music Degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of South Carolina, where he studied with Donald Portnoy and Neil Casey as well as Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Music and Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Drew Quiring is currently completing his DMA studies at Arizona State University under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Campbell in Collaborative Piano Performance, where he has held a Teaching Assistantship as Staff Pianist for the School of Music. Additionally, he has served as staff pianist for the Quartet Program in Fredonia, New York and the Franco-American Vocal Academy in Paris and Perigueux, France. He is a two-time recipient of Manitoba Arts Council grants and has been a winning finalist in the Canadian National Music Festival. Mr. Quiring began classical studies at age 15 in organ, piano, and music theory before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in his hometown at Brandon University as a student of Judy Kehler Siebert, Lawrence Jones & Arthur Bower, graduating as Valedictorian with a double major in Organ & Piano Performance. Mr. Quiring obtained a Master's in Solo Piano Performance from the University of Toronto with Lydia Wong and Jamie Parker. Mr. Quiring has participated in Centre d'arts Orford, Toronto Summer Music Academy & Festival, Vancouver International Song Institute, 11\cademie Francis Poulenc and Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, and played in masterclasses and private lessons with Martin Katz, Marc-Andre Hamelin, Andre Laplante, Graham Johnson, Franc;:ois Le Roux, and members of the St.Lawrence and Brentano String Quartets. He has enjoyed diverse positions from church organist to ballet accompanist, playing for all styles, instruments and voice types. ~ ~ • Hannah Leland is in her third year of doctoral studies at Arizona State University where she studies with Dr. Katherine Mclin. Leland performs solo and chamber music recitals regularly and serves as one of the Concertmasters of the ASU Symphony Orchestra. Miss Leland is tenured with Arizona Opera as well as a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. She completed a Master of Music degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder,CO with Dr. Lina Bahn and Mr. Andres Cardenes in 2010. During her time in Colorado, Hannah performed with Ensemble Pearl, an early music ensemble, and with Pendulum, a new music ensemble. Hannah received her Bachelor of Music degree cum laude from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Miss Leland began violin lessons at the age of eight. She has performed in numerous master classes for artists including Andres Cardenes and Rolf Schulte, and has attended many summer festivals including the Meadowmount School of Music in Westport, New York. Seattle Washington native Linnea Wentworth switched to oboe from violin during high school after hearing the beautiful oboe solo in Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony. Mrs. Wentworth graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Whitworth University, located in Spokane, Washington, in 2011 and in 2013 she received her Master of Music degree in oboe performance from Arizona State University studying with Martin Schuring. Mrs. Wentworth has performed as a soloist with both the Whitworth Orchestra and the Spokane Symphony. She is a former member of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony in Idaho and currently plays principal oboe with the Scottsdale Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble. She enjoys teaching oboe lessons and performing throughout the Valley, and has spent the past year starting up her own small business. She lives with her wonderful husband Todd in Gilbert, AZ.
