This season he appears with the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, performs at the Ojai Music Festival, and holds a residency at the San Francisco Conservatory. In 2006 he was awarded the Peabody Medal by the Peabody Conservatory for his outstanding contributions to music in America. He was the pianist of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players for 30 years, and was a founding member of the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, a group that flourished during the 1960s and 70s in support of new music. He is particularly known for his partnership of many years with mezzosoprano Jan DeGaetani, as well as for current collaborations with soprano Dawn Upshaw and cellists Timothy Eddy and Joel Krosnik. As an educator and performer he has appeared at the Banff Centre, the Steans Institute at Ravinia, the Marlboro Music Festival, and Music@Menlo; from 1985 to 1997 he served as chairman of the Tanglewood faculty. His discography of some 100 recordings embraces both the classical and contemporary repertories; of special note are those made with Ms. DeGaetani and that of Ives' Concord Sonata. A distinguished professor at SUNY Stony Brook, Mr. Kalish has been an Artist of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center since 2006. At the recommendation of Isaac Stem and Alexander Schneider, violinist Carmit Zori came to the United States from her native Israel at the age of 15 to study with Ivan Galamian, Jaime Laredo, and Arnold Steinhardt at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Zori is the recipient of a Leventritt Foundation Award, a Pro Musicis International Award, and the top prize in the Walter W. Naumburg International Violin Competition. Zori has appeared as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, among many others. Her solo recitals include concerts at Lincoln Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum in Boston, and the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C .. Jerusalem Center to the Performing Arts. Her engagements abroad have included performances throughout Latin America and Europe, as well as in Israel, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia. In Australia she premiered a violin concerto by Marc Neikrug. In addition to her appearances with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Zori has been a guest at chamber music festivals and concert series around the world, including the Chamber Music at the "Y" series in New York City; Festival Casals in Puerto Rico; Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival; Chamber Music Northwest; the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival; the Seattle Chamber Music Festival; Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival; the BDDS Chamber Music Festival in Madison, WI; and the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont. Zori was an artistic director and frequent performer at Bargemusic in New York, and is now the artistic director of the Brooklyn Chamber Music Society, which she founded in 2002. She has recorded on the Arabesque, Koch International, and El@ktra-Nonesucnlabels. Zori has served on the violin faculty at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts and on the chamber music faculty at SUNY Purchase. Praised for his expressive and poetic music making, Belgian cellist Thomas Landschoot enjoys an international career as a pedagogue, as well as a concert and recording artist. As an active soloist, he has performed recitals and concerto performances m Brussels, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Taipei, Toronto, Vancouver, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Bucharest, and Loja, Ecuador with orchestras like the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Orchestra of the White House and the Frankfurt Chamber Orchestra. He has performed at renowned festivals and music series including Barge Music, Park City, Santa Barbara, Mammoth Lakes, Eureka, High Peaks, Utah, Red Rock, Waterloo, Killington and Texas Music Festivals, His CD recordings are released on Summit, Organic, Kokopelli, ArchiMusic and Centaur Records. Over 20 new compositions have been written for Tom Landschoot, including two large symphonic cello concertos by two leading European contemporary composers: 'Prix de La Musique' winning Frank Nuyts and director of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra Dirk Brosse. Thomas Landschoot was appointed to the faculty of music at Arizona State University School of Music in 2001, after having taught at the University of Michigan. In 2013, Landschoot joined the Rossetti String Quartet. Thomas Landschoot performs on a Tommaso Balestrieri cello and a Dominique Pecatte bow.
