Schubert (1797-1828) Hailed for her "musical spontaneity and technical bravura': Czech pianist Karolina Syrovatkova, is recognized for her innovative approach to performance. One of her latest projects connects music, art and drama while bringing the audience closer to understanding the composer's intentions. Diverse audiences on four continents (Europe, China, North and South America) have deeply connected with Karolina's advocacy and passion for music in solo and chamber settings. Karolina began her professional music studies at the Prague Conservatory in the Czech Republic, where she teaches and performs regularly. Her success at home opened doors for her in the United States. She received her Doctorate degree in Piano Performance summa cum laude at the University of Texas at Austin. While in Austin, she coordinated and taught piano classes at the University of Texas and also co-founded and directed a local non-profit organization in disadvantaged areas called the Hallettsville Classical Music Series. In 2014 and 2015 she presented the "Czech Heritage Series" tour on two continents. Also an avid chamber musician, she won the Sidney M. Wright endowed Presidential Scholarship in piano accompanying. She is currently working on a research and recording project of the entire piano works of Leos Janacek and the final three Schubert sonatas. Karolina became a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique which stresses an efficient use of the body in musical instruction. She specializes in teaching master classes at universities as well as private organizations which focus on the prevention and treatment of musician's injuries.
