You know you’re alw ays welcome to b o r row any book I have.” Why don’t students receive their own grade reports at semester’s end? * Some do. Only the grades of minors are sent to parents. For the most part, parents are paying for their sons’ and daughters’ college education, giving the school an obligation to these parents. As most parents are anxious to know their offsprings’ progress at school, grade reports are sent to them as soon as possible..,,, . ' Students wanting to find out their grades can dp so by contacting their advisors or instructors, or simply by making a phone call home (about 80 per cent of ASU’s enrollment comes from Maricopa county). In some cases in which minors have received their own grade reports by mistake, jrate parents have called the Registrar’s office, wondering why they hadn’t been informed of their youngsters’ progress. It seems, in each of these cases, the students’ grades have disqualified them from continuing school here and the students didn’t tell their parents. Sincerely interested students can keep up to date daily on their grades. What’s wrong with letting parents in on it twice a year? “ Eh wot,” replied Zippo, his reverie interrupted. “Oh, I ju s t wondered. These books look like they haven’t been touched in a year. W hat’s the use in having them ' if you don’t read them ?” s i b To w hich Roger, com pleting his last sem ester of post-grad w ork a t Saddleshoe U, casual ly grinned, “Those are from m y under-g rad days — th ere are the books I carry to class now,” pointing to a heap in the corner. 1 “But, wow, w h at a grade in dex you must.. hay.e!
