Mission To protect human life and property by enforcing state laws, deterring criminal ac vity and providing vital support to the State of Arizona and its ci zens. Agency Descrip on The Department of Public Safety enforces state law with primary responsibility in the areas of traffic safety, criminal interdic on, narco cs, organized crime, auto the and regulatory func ons. Services include homeland security, criminal intelligence, scien fic analysis, avia on, criminal informa on systems, training and statewide communica ons. Opera onal and technical assistance is provided to local and state agencies and other components of the criminal jus ce community. The Department also promotes and enhances the quality of public safety through coopera ve enforcement and community awareness programs.
