Maricopa County Department of Transportation Transportation Improvement Program Fiscal Years 2016-2020 Introduction The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) annual Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the five-year plan for Maricopa County’s roadway system projects. These projects focus on building or maintaining the County’s transportation infrastructure investment and include: roadways, bridges, drainage structures, intersections and Intelligent Transportation Systems. MCDOT, local jurisdictions and the public identified projects listed in the TIP as potential improvements to the Maricopa County Transportation System. MCDOT evaluates the need and feasibility of projects through careful scoping and preliminary design. All projects within the TIP with funding allocated for fiscal year 2016 have been adopted into the County’s annual budget by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. All other projects listed in the TIP are proposed as part of MCDOT’s five-year plan. Each year, MCDOT evaluates the TIP to keep the public informed of the County’s roadway investments.
