Aug. 11. 1885 Dear Dr Stoker, I owe you many apologies for my long possession of the Blakes. They gave me great pleasure. You should have had them sooner but that I was away from Dublin, & didn’t like to trust them out of my own hands. I go away again in a few [page break] days but shall be back within a month. I hope you will some time, when you are in this neighbourhood, look in to see my Blake’s “Canterbury Pilgrims”, & his Dante illustrations which are of the date of the Book of Job but far inferior I think. Very truly yours E. Dowden.
