Arizona at a Glance – 2014  Approximately 2.12 persons were killed each day.  One person was killed every 11.33 hours.  There were 139.33 persons injured every day.  One person was injured every 10.34 minutes.  Alcohol Related crashes accounted for 4.46% of all crashes and 33.62% of all fatal crashes.  Of all alcohol related crashes, 78.96% occurred in Urban areas and 21.04% occurred in Rural areas, while 60.08% of all alcohol related fatal crashes occurred in Urban areas and 39.92% occurred in Rural areas.  Single vehicle crashes accounted for 17.04% of all crashes and 36.72% of all fatal crashes.  Of all Pedestrian crashes, 9.99% were fatal while 1.61% of Pedalcycle crashes were fatal.  Crashes which occurred during daylight hours (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) accounted for 72.5% of all crashes.  Motor vehicle crashes resulted in $3.025 billion in economic losses to Arizona.  Children age 14 and younger accounted for 28 fatalities and 3,380 injuries in motor vehicle crashes.
