The original 100-year peak discharge used for Cross-Sections 123 and 124 has been revised. The original value of 1505 cubic feet per second (cfs) was based on the assumption that the contribution from the unnamed watershed, which is a tributary of the West Idle Hour Wash (IHW), would be insignificant. However, a more detailed analysis of the individual hydrographs for each watershed indicates that a peak discharge of 2140 cfs is more appropriate for this particular reach of the Idle Hour Wash. This represents an increase of approximately 635 cfs over the previously used value Our hydrograph analysis of the West IHW assumed that the discharge conveyed within the left (west) channel braid of West IHW (starting at cross-section 125) was 1505 cfs or 45% of the peak discharge occurring at concentration point 120 from watershed Sa (3344 cfs). The 45 percent I 55 percent flow division was detailed in our original report entitled "Letter of Map Revision for Idle Hour Wash", dated March 24, 1995. The maximum discharge resulting from the two combined hydrographs occurs at approximately 60 minutes. When 45 percent of 3344 cfs (1505 cfs) from Concentration Point 120 is added to the 631 cfs contribution from the unnamed watershed a combined discharge of approximately 2140 cfs is produced. See the attached printouts of our synthetic hydrographs. The ouly required change to the floodplain mapping in this area was a reclassification of the original ZONE X designation to a ZONE A01 designation. This is the result of slightly deeper flows within the left (north) overbank area between Cross-Section 22 and 225. A revised printout of the HEC-2 model is attached along with the revised input data provided on a 3.5 inch diskette. 2. Item 5 (Flood Boundaries and 100-Year Water Surface Elevation) of FEMA Form 5 (Riverine/Coastal Mapping) was incomplete in our original submittal: the completed form is attached. All property and structures affected by shifts in the 100-year floodplain were previously documented and submitted to the District on March 24, 1995 as a separate 110 South Church Avenue. None of the changes made to the HEC-2 model as a result of FEMA's review comments resulted in a change in the status of any of the properties or structures documented in the "Property Status" spreadsheet. 3. The floodplain widths at Cross-Sections 4 and 33 have been corrected. At Cross-Section 4, the computed width was in error. Originally, a portion of the left (northwest) overbank area was allowed to convey a portion of the 100-year discharge when in reality, flows are not able to reach this area. To remedy this, a left encroachment station was defined using the X3 card. A minor change was also made to the floodplain limit on the right (southeast) bank as a result of the modifications to the model. At Cross-Section 33, the original GR data were in error. This error resulted in a discrepancy between the mapped and the computed floodplain width. To remedy this, the cross-section was redefined along the same alignment. A minor change was then made to the right (southeast) floodplain limit between Cross-Sections 32 and 33 to reflect the changes made to the model. As a result of the minor mapping changes, the 1000-scale floodplain map (Figure 3) has been updated as well as the 200-scale map set which compares the effective and LOMR 100-year floodplain limits.
